…plays flugelhorn, tuba, and everything else made of brass. He studied trombone and tuba at the conservatory in Muenster under renowned teachers such as Eric van Lier, Jiggs Whigham and Bobby Burgess. He was a member of the Bundes Jazz Orchester under Peter Herbolzheimer, as well as the WDR Big Band, NDR Big Band, Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, the Städtischen Bühnen Münster, the Götz Alsmann Band and many more. Apart from teaching at the music and art college in Bielefeld he has led the Jugendjazzorchester NRW (youth jazz orchestra) since 2006 and he has started teaching jazz trombone and ensemble conductorship at the FH Osnabrück. In 2009 he won the prestigious WDR jazz prize with his Bielefeld music school big band “Bi-Bop”.
